Fall-Scented Pinecones

This is one of my favorite fall, DIY oily projects! It's super easy to do and oh, so wonderful smelling! I love to do a few batches and set them out in different places in our house - some on the dining room table as part of our centerpiece, some in the front hall ready to greet our guests with a homey fragrance, some in a basket in the kitchen, some in a rustic dish on a side table the family room....there are so many great places to put them and fill your home with the scents of fall!

Cinnamon Vanilla Scrub

Cinnamon Vanilla Scrub

This is a wonderful scrub to make up a batch of and leave beside your kitchen sink! Use on your hands and enjoy a few moments of pampering! You're worth the self-care!

This is also great to use on your feet, but PLEASE be super careful if you decide to use it in the shower. That's not the best way to enjoy  a "fall!"

Do You Know About YL's Foundation?

Do You Know About YL's Foundation?
Do you know about the worldwide impact of the D. Gary Young Foundation? I have to admit - I've been a YL member for 4 years and while I was aware of some of the work we accomplished, it really hadn't sunk in or connected with my heart...until I listened to Greg Larson, the head of the foundation, speak at two different events I attended this summer.

I learned about the difference that we're making in places like Nepal, Africa, Ecuador, Uganda, Croatia and even places as close to home at Texas, following hurricane Harvey. I've seen the pictures of sweet, beautiful faces rescued out of the sex trade, children no longer living on the streets and with a meal in their bellies, students attending and graduating schools in places like Ecuador and Africa, and feet free of jiggers (click on the photo below to learn more about what YL is doing in partnership with Sole Hope)
and men, women and children treated and protected from malaria in Uganda.

Closer to home, YL matched the first $50,000 donated to those in need following Harvey's devastation, plus delivered nearly 20 pallets of care kits, along with 100,000 packets of water, donations received from YL employees and $4,000 in tools and cleaning supplies. Want to help? Click on the picture below to learn more.

YL members can also go on foundation trips throughout the year, helping in each of the places that the foundation works. The next trip will be to Yarsa, Nepal, in November. Members will help in construction efforts, continuing to rebuild following the earthquake devastation in that nation. Members can also sponsor a child and they can designate a particular project close to their hearts to fund. Want to know the various ways YOU can get involved? Click on the photo below!

Do you know that you can make a huge difference just by rounding up your monthly Essential Rewards order? Those few cents are compounded among our members and would result in $500,000 EVERY MONTH going directly to our YL Foundation, projects and partners if each of us rounded up. The incredible thing? Young Living does not take a single penny of those donations to cover administrative costs. 100% of every donation goes directly to the projects and partnerships. Who does that??? Oh, yah...WE do! I love that so much! Click on the picture below to learn the two simple steps it takes to round up and make a difference in the lives of those who are hurting.

This is what we've been accomplishing through the D. Gary Young Foundation, even just in part:

  • 112 Homes and 2 Schools Rebuilt in a Nepali Village Destroyed by the Earthquake
  • 4,000 Mosquito Nets Hung MONTHLY in Uganda, Protecting Vulnerable Children and Adults
  • 100% Graduation Rate in Our School in Ecuador, with Graduates Continuing to Attend College
  • 90% of Those Rescued from Sex Trafficking Who Go Through Hope for Justice's Restorative Program NEVER RETURN to the Sex Trade
  • A Nursery School Was Built for 200 Preschool Children in Uganda
  • 5 Days a Week a Meal is Provided to Starving Children in Ugandan Slums
  • Space in Transitional Homes for Children Rescued from the Slums Was Doubled to 40
  • Family Setting Support Provided for 125 Croatian Orphans in the Only Orphanage in Split, Croatia

Immune Support Roller Ball Blend

Immune Support Roller Ball Blend
I was a bit surprised to discover that I needed immune system support a whole lot sooner in the season this year! Whether it's thanks to hurricane Irma or something else, I've regretted not having been more proactive in supporting my immune system weeks ago!

I did immediately begin supporting my body's healthy recovery by diffusing oils like Thieves and Purification to help support my immune system and added in Raven or RC (I alternated) to support my upper respiratory system. I also made up this quick and simple blend in a 10 ml roller ball bottle that I'm now putting on my feet every night before bed. It's comprised of 20 drops each of Thieves, Oregano, Purification and ImmuPower (a blend of Hyssop, Mountain Savory, Cistus, Camphor, Frankincense, Oregano, Clove, Cumin and Dorado Azul), topped off with olive oil that I used as a carrier oil. You can also use YL's V-6 Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex, which is a blend of coconut, sesame, grape seed, sweet almond, wheat germ, sunflower and olive oils.

Why my feet? Why daily? Why before bed, you ask? Great questions! Did you know that our bodies have over 1500 vita flex points that you can use for applying essential oils and the correlating organs, emotions, etc., will, in turn, be supported? Here's a graphic with the vita flex points found on the feet. There are also great images available for the vita flex points for the hands and ears, as well. A simple internet search will give you multiple options.

Also, there are 3 places where you can apply oils that will then have those oils to every cell in your body within about 20 minutes. Those three places are the bottom of your right, big toe, the "pad" of your right thumb, and the center of your forehead. I apply the oils to the vita flex points for my sinuses and lungs, as well as applying it to the bottom of my big toe. I like to do it before bed because it's a time when I'm staying off of my feet anyway, the oils can just soak in, and I won't smell like a pizza during the day. (Feel free to put socks on if you'd like.) It's also a great time to help support your body's overall health after all it's been exposed to throughout the day. Why daily? Because I find that my system needs that support, particularly in the fall, winter and spring. I do take a break during the summer because I find I don't need as much overall health support then.

Roller ball bottles are easy to purchase online and they come in a variety of sizes. One tip? Be sure to get ones with a steel roller ball, rather than plastic. The plastic ones seem to fall out after a while.

Happy oiling!
